(The Daily Press) - Timmins. Residents of local subsidized housing units can take a breath of fresh air. The Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) had decided to make its housing units smoke-free. “On April 1, the Cochrane DSSAB adopted a smoke-free policy,” said Carol Barber, CDSSAB program manager. “This is a move that we truly think is the way of the future. It is a step that needed to be taken and one that we are proud to have done so.”

C'est bien connu, les coûts liés à la cigarette font perdre de l'argent aux fumeurs - mais le coût du tabagisme pourrait bien être plus élevé qu'ils ne le croient. Un sondage récent, parrainé par Pfizer Canada, mené auprès d'agents et de courtiers immobiliers du Québec a révélé que le fait de fumer dans sa maison pourrait faire diminuer de jusqu'à 19 % la valeur de la propriété. more...
