Smoke-free housing is still a new concept in Ontario, but the idea is catching on.
There is increasing public awareness and appreciation of the problem of second-hand smoke infiltration in multi-unit dwellings. Tenants are starting to speak out about it. Landlords are beginning to realize that no-smoking policies are legal and enforceable, and that there is market demand for smoke-free housing. It won't be long before there is more choice for tenants seeking smoke-free accommodations.
