    Smoke-Free Housing Directory

Smoke-Free Housing Ontario will eventually include a provincial smoke-free multi-unit housing directory.

In the meantime, you can try searching online for smoke-free accommodations using websites such as Kijiji or craigslist. Use search terms such as "no smoking," "smoke-free," "smoke free," or even "no smokers." However, be aware that it's buyer beware! Ask lots of questions before you sign a lease--even if a landlord has a no-smoking policy in place, it doesn't mean that you won't be exposed to second-hand smoke. By law, Ontario landlords must grandfather existing smokers when they introduce a no-smoking policy.

If you are interested in short-term housing, try Interim Housing Solutions--they have a no-smoking button right on their website to help you quickly sort through prospective short-term accommodations.

Perhaps you know of a landlord/organization, a condominium or a housing co-op with a no-smoking policy in place. If so, contact us because we’d love to hear about it.
